2025 UPDATE
With the closing of Bridgeview Yacht Club in 2024 (our favorite venue for over two decades) LBCA’s team embraced the unique opportunity to focus on our own families this past December. Although we continued our work assisting families throughout the year, we paused our fundraising efforts in December, as we look to add some exciting new events in 2025.
Still, we were able to deliver over 600 toys to a local church, elementary schools, the MLK Center & families residing in public housing, with the help of Toys for Tots. Throughout the year, we assisted with mental health services for young people; provided food assistance; rental assistance; furniture assistance; secured housing for at-risk families; and provided post-secondary educational support for books and supplies for local students.
LBCA ASSISTS FAMILIES IN FINANCIAL CRISIS IN THE LONG BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT.
WE STRIVE TO LESSEN THE BURDEN FOR HARD WORKING FAMILIES EXPERIENCING A HARDSHIP. ANY FAMILY CAN EXPERIENCE A CRISIS, WHETHER IT IS A SUDDEN DEATH OF A PARENT, DIVORCE, ABANDONMENT, LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT, SICK CHILD, OR A SANDY-LIKE NATURAL DISASTER. EVER SINCE COVID, WE HAVE SEEN A SPIKE IN THE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS PLAGUING OUR YOUNG PEOPLE ESPECIALLY. WE WORK TO CONNECT PROVIDERS WITH FAMILIES, AND OFTEN SUPPORT THEM FINANCIALLY WHILE THEY ARE IN THE CARE OF PROFESSIONALS. WITH ALMOST $2.5 MILLION DISPERSED SINCE INCEPTION, LBCA CONTINUES TO GIVE HOPE TO OUR LOCAL FAMILIES.

RIPTIDES
For over two decades, friends have gathered to help support our Long Beach community, opening their hearts to help our neighbors in need.
What started out as a toy drive, has now evolved into one of the premier events in Long Beach. Exciting things are being planned for 2025, so keep an eye out for updates.
We look forward to seeing everyone in new locations in the near future, with the same intention: to gather together to help local families experiencing a financial hardship.
